What encourages students to take graduate education? I want to get a Master's degree someday or even a doctorate's degree, but I thought only a few students would want to have graduate education. But I found out that there are a lot graduate students nowadays, and I heard that this figure is expected to rise, so what encourages students to take gradutate courses?
What is the most important thing that students expect from their teachers? Teachers are often ineffective because they do not understand their students. When teachers and students operate at different frequencies, both get frustrated and unproductivity sets in. Good teachers know what students expect and work sincerely to fulfill students' needs. They deliberately engage in activities that would build and strengthen their students' potential. However, many times, communication between them are closed and teachers have no way of knowing what students 'really' expect from them. An open communication will help prevent this ill-practice at schools.
What are ways college students can eat healthy when they are on a budget? For many college students like myself, eatting healthy is not always possible and many college students are on a shoe string budget for groceries and many students end up eatting food they do not like. This food can include Ramen Noodles, Canned Food, Frozen Food, and eatting fast food such as pizza and hamburgers. What kind of advice would you give to college students to eat healthy when they are on a budget for food and groceries?
What are the other ways to educate students? In my country (Taiwan), teachers were allowed to hit students as a punishment. They were also allowed to give any other pysical punishments, and were allowed to insult and humiliate students. But not anymore, now there are laws against pysical punishments and insulting students. And this make the students much more disrespectful toward the teachers, they curse and slap the teachers, but the teachers can't call the cops either (for the sake of the child's future). This is a problem, becasue there are many students whose parents are too busy at work and have no time to educate or discipline their kids. And those kids in school are a nightmare! They threaten other kids, slap teachers...... etc. and if you expel them from the school, all they have to do is to build another gang in their new school. There are simply no punishments that can make them behave! Can anyone think of any other ways that teachers can make those students behave?
What can students do to make their school a safer place? Last year, a student at my high school plotted to kill about 20 others including other students and teachers. He fortunately was caught. However, I still do not feel safe going to school and worry in the years to come about college safety. What can be done to make schools safer?

How old are students when they enter and finish higher education in Egypt? In America, students start at 18 and finish at 22 typically, but I heard that Egyptian students (like Zarqawi) can be in med school at 17, which would mean that higher education in Egypt is like secondary education in the free world. Is this true? In America, students start college (higher education) at 18 and finish at 22 typically, but I heard that Egyptian students (like Zarqawi) can be in medical school, or other graduate studies at 17, which would mean that higher education in Egypt is more like secondary education in the free world than higher education, since high school (secondary education) ends at 18 in the US. This website: http://www.gse.buffalo.edu/org/IntHigherEdFinance/Egypt.pdf says that college in Egypt lasts from age 14 to 17. Is that true, or does it work differently? I also read that in Egypt they devote much of their education to Koranic studies but they don't study science, history, government, or psychology, since the truth in these areas of study largely conflict with what the Koran says. I know they study math and language because the Egyptian grad students I know speak fairly well and must have performed adequately on their GREs, but they have obviously never studied history, science, or psych.

How can I find volunteers to host exchange students in their home? Two other partners and I started a small, non-profit exchange student program a couple of years ago called Peace4Kids (www.peace4kids.net). We bring high school kids to the US to live with host families and go to public schools. We mostly place students in the greater El Paso, TX area, but also have some placed in Arkansas, California and Ohio. The State Department requires that host families be volunteer (we can't pay them), but it is getting harder and harder to find families to open their home for a school year or semester. Does anyone have any fabulous ideas on how we can find people to host an exchange student? It really is a great experience--I know, I've hosted and I've been an exchange student! The school year is fast approaching and we have some terrific kids from several different countries (all of whom speak English.)
How do you assess your students with disabilities in the classroom? I am a special education coordinator and I am wondering how other special education teachers and general ed teachers assess their students with disabilities? Do you use running records, student portfolios, etc? Do you use any particular websites or programs that assess your kids? Any answer will be greatly appreciated!
How do you decide whether to let students use the restroom? This is for high school teachers: do you let students go during class, and how do you determine who goes? I generally let students go one at a time (usually 4 or 5 per class period) if they have not caused any trouble in the room. Some students may just want an excuse to be out of class, while others may have a genuine problem and need to be excused. How do you decide whether it is a trick or legitimate?

How many students are accepted to medical school yearly? Out of the 60k or so people who apply, just about how many spots are available in the 126ish medical schools here in the states? Also, any doctors/medical students feel free to give additional advice on which schools I should apply to.
How do you deal with different levels of students in the class? I am currently going to school to become an elementary teacher. The class I am taking right now is how to teach grammar/writing to students. I have to write a final paper for the class and it has to help answer a question that other teachers might have. the question that i came up with, which is something that I've been wondering myself is, how does a teacher deal with students who are advanced and students who are behind in learning? Any teachers out there, I would greatly appreciate some help on this one! Thanks!
How important is learning English to students in China? When I was in China I was impressed with how enthusiastic young people seem to be to learn English...On the list of academic priorities, where would Chinese students place learning how to speak and write in English? Is this ability required for university entrance exams and/or to get a good job? And I see lots of info on private schools for English in China, do students feel such extra tutoring is necessary?
How do lecturers find out whether students do referencing? Students studying in universities have to do a lot of referencing and citations on their assignment, and the universities' impose penalties on students who did not do referencing, or other words, 'plagiarism'. Let's say i wrote a 2500 words report, with incomplete referencing, how do the lecturer or tutor who marks my report knows whether I make the complete reference? And another thing is regarding in-text citations. How the tutor knows that this sentence is taken directly from external sources (if i didn't do in-text citations) ?
How can I recruit students for my search and rescue team? Hello. I volunteer on a search and rescue team that is entirely staffed and commanded by high school students. Our numbers have been getting low and in April we'll be taking new members in. How can I attract people to the team? Any creative ideas? We don't have a lot of money to work with.
What are some good ways to motivate students to study a foreign language? I work as a Spanish tutor at college. And though I love my job and often find it rewarding, I also get quite frustrated from time to time, because I often have students who don't take learning the language seriously. Often these students are taking Spanish courses to fulfill a requirement in a degree program and they are usually more focused on passing the courses instead of actually learning the language. Is there any way I can help change their attitudes towards learning a foreign language?
How many actuarial science students are there in the group? A group of actuarial students hired a professor from a Yale University and planned to contribute equal amount for the professor’s fee. If there were 10 more actuarial science students, each would have paid US$2 less. However, if there were 5 less actuarial science students, each would have paid US$2 more. What are German, Japanese and Italian history students taught about their countries during WW2? Here, we called the triple axis with Hitler, Hirohito and Mussolini evil, world-conquering dictators that we fought against for freedom and human rights. Do students in those countries learn the same? What do the Japanese teach their students about the bomb dropped on Hiroshima by the US? Sorry, Hirohito wasn't a dictator, but he was leading an empire pushing toward imperialism through invasions.
How do students learn how to do some algebra problems without being taught how to do them? Like, difficult radical equations. I take my class online so I watch a lot of videos and read a lot of examples from the book. Well, not all problems in the book are even taught, there are none that are even close to what are taught but some students still get it. How is that possible? How do you possibly solve equations that are not taught? Are they guessing or what?
Are you a creative writing instructor at a university? How do you handle potentially dangerous students? I'm curious how creative writing instructors at colleges and universities handle students who write about really disturbing things and who seem potentially dangerous to themselves and others? Are instructors privy to students' mental health records? Do they let such students get away with violent or disturbing writing in an effort NOT to stir too much trouble? Do you become proactive in trying to help these students? Do you undergo training to deal with problem students? As a creative writing student at a university, I often see disturbing stuff brought into workshops. I'm wondering what the profs think of all this. Thanks to any answers!
What problems could some students face whilst adjusting to learning in a university culture? I'm writing a paper and the topic is: ‘...for some students, particularly those from under-represented backgrounds, the transition to university can be a significant battle in that it may constitute a conflict of values, a challenge to one’s identity and a threat to familiar ways of knowing and doing’ (Krause, 2006). Discuss this claim in relation to beginning students adjusting to learning in a university culture. What are some of the conflicts and conflict in values? Particularly for international students, and regular students. Thank you.
How do you motivate students with a perverted teacher to learn in class? I have freidns and these victims are mainly female students, where the teacher automatically gives a good grade to the ones he touches, likes to talk about sex and natsy stuff, touch and feel, looks at girls' body parts, and likes girls who dress slutty. As well as doesn't teach the students at all. How do you convince the students to get together and get the teacher fired if these students are afraid to tell on the teacher?
