Is it safe to buy Microsoft Office from an academic discount seller?

2. Yes. But why do that when you can get Open Office for free?
3. unless its a spammer website - should be pretty safe. Make sure its a reputable reseller.
4. Academic software from Micorosft is exactly the same as the retail version. The only difference is the price. In order to purchase the software you are supposed to prove you are a student / teacher.
